Complete and Updated List of SSC Examinations - full details

We all have herd about Staff Selection Commission (SSC). We often have herd people discussing about SSC examinations. In a survey of 200 students conducted by one of my best friends, he found that 60 percent of the candidates do not know all the examinations conducted by SSC each year. We at latestindiajobs are enthusiastic enough that we should publish a post showing all competitive examinations conducted by the SSC in India.

List of names of examinations conducted by SSC:

Details of examinations conducted by SSC in India:

1. Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination:

  • Nature of examination:   This exam is conducted once in a year in two Tiers, Tier-I and Tier-II.
  • Educational qualification: Graduation in any discipline is the minimum educational qualification   required for this exam.    
    • For Compiler, it is graduation with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as major subjects or elective subjects. 
    • For Statistical Investigator post, the minimum educational qualification required is graduation with Statistics as major or graduation in Economics with Statistics or Graduation in Commerce with Statistics. 
    • Assistants : Graduation with Computer knowledge.
  • Age limit:Maximum age limit to appear in this examination is 27 years for general category candidates with relaxation for reserved candidates like schedule caste, tribes, physically handicaps etc.

2.  Combined Hr. Sec. Level Examination:

  • Nature of examination: Held once in a year. 
  • Educational qualification: 12th standard (10+2). 
  • Age limit: 18-27 years.

3. Stenographer Grade (C & D) Examination:

  • same as that of Combined Hr. Sec. Exam except that candidates will have to pass the stenography test. More details here.

4. Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electical):

  • Educational qualification required is degree or three years diploma in the concerned discipline. It differs according to the post. 
  • Maximum age limit also differs according to the post.

 5. SI in Delhi Police, CAPF and ASI in CISF:

  • Educational qualification: Graduation in any discipline from recognized University.
  • Age limit: 20-25 years for general candidates.

6.  Common Recruitment of Constables (GD):

  • Educational qualification: Matriculation.
  • Age: 18-23 years for general applicants.
